The Photomultiplier Tube (PMT) is a device for detecting low levels or short pulses of light. It consists of a photocathode input, a gain stage and an anode, which provides an electrical output signal. With an ultra-fast response and high sensitivity it is ideally suited to high energy physics and nuclear research.

Features

  • Compact size Standard or UV fibre optic input window
  • Good gain & spectral uniformity
  • Photon counting PMT's have sharply peaked pulse height distribution and low jitter
  • Integral 50 ohm output
  • SMA or N type connectors
  • Segmented anode option

Applications

  • Single photon counting fluorescence.
  • LIDAR.
  • Time correlated photon counting.
  • Nuclear physics.
  • Analysis of fast optical pulses
  • Multi fibre scintillation counting
  • Parallel multi channel read-out from spectroscopes, micro titre trays etc.
  • Fluorescence spectroscopy
  • Time resolved photon counting
