Photodiodes

A Photodiode is a device for detecting ultra fast optical events. It generates an electrical output when illuminated by light and has no internal gain but can work over a large dynamic range. Photek Photodiodes have a rise time of less than 100ps and are available with either a 10 mm, 25 mm or 40 mm photocathode.

Features

  • 10 mm, 25 mm and 40 mm active diameter
  • High dynamic range
  • Integral 50 ohm output
  • Linear response measured up to 5 amps per square centimetre
  • Rise time < 100 ps
  • Response > 3 GHz

Applications

  • Examination of sub-nanosecond optical pulses
  • Optical trigger
  • Nuclear research
