Photodiodes
A Photodiode is a device for detecting ultra fast optical events. It generates an electrical output when illuminated by light and has no internal gain but can work over a large dynamic range. Photek Photodiodes have a rise time of less than 100ps and are available with either a 10 mm, 25 mm or 40 mm photocathode.
Features
- 10 mm, 25 mm and 40 mm active diameter
- High dynamic range
- Integral 50 ohm output
- Linear response measured up to 5 amps per square centimetre
- Rise time < 100 ps
- Response > 3 GHz
Applications
- Examination of sub-nanosecond optical pulses
- Optical trigger
- Nuclear research
