STREAK TUBES

Streak Tubes

Ultra fast measurement of light intensity variation over time

Streak tubes are used for the study of ultra-fast optical phenomena and specifically measure the variation in light intensity as a function of time. Installed in some of the world’s best streak cameras the Photek streak tubes are proven in performance and reliability. Photek streak tubes are ideal for both streak and high repetition rate framing cameras.

Product Overview

ST-Y Streak Tube

The ST-Y, this tube allows many spectral or spatial elements to be imaged onto a 35 mm long slit. A control grid allows the tube to be switched (gated) on/off with relatively low voltage. The tube has three focus electrodes allowing the tube to be optimised for resolution, distortion and time response.

ST-X Streak Tube

Smaller variant of the ST-Y.

Photochron 5

The Photochron 5 was developed in collaboration with St Andrews University for use in Synchroscan cameras, and can achieve better than 2 ps time resolution in both single shot and synchroscan modes.
